Daily Schedule

2:50 PM - 3:10 PM

Arrival from classrooms to holding area (Art Room, Music Room). Coloring, drawing, and reading activities are set out for the children at this time.

3:10 PM - 3:40 PM

Children are in two groups (Kindergarten to Grade 2, Grade 3 to Grade 6). One group has snack while the other group uses gym or outdoor play area. Then they switch. Time for snack is one half-hour. Snack time gives the children time to talk, with their friends and relax for a while. Also at this time the children are told what the days activities are and any sharing is also done during this time.

3:40 PM - 5:15PM

Small group activities. The activities will vary each day. The activities will be appropriate to age, abilities and interests. New materials and topics will be explored. Both long and short-term projects will be offered. The child has the choice of choosing a planned activity or another one. For older children this is a time when homework can be done.

5:15 PM - 5:45 PM

Clean-up and quiet activities

A bi-weekly calendar of events, which will include a variety of special interest topics, as well as holiday parties and functions, will be distributed.
